|I had a much different weather for my 2nd full day in DC yesterday, however, it wasn't much better for me. Instead of constant rain, I had my other foe... intense heat. So, I improvised and went to the movies. In the evening, I went with my host at a local Mensa event, my first outside Montreal area.|
With my sunburns still in the healing
process, I couldn't stay too long in direct warm sunlight or sweat
too much, because it would irritate and infect my new reddish skin
after the sunburn peels. With the help of my maps systems, I found a
local movie theatre... and I went in to spend the worst hours of the
day inside. I saw a Washington-related movie... 'White House Down',
which is about the explosion of the Capitol and a terrorist attack on
the White House.
I then visited the old post office
tower, which is the highest bird-eye viewpoint, since the Washington
Monument is closed for repairs after a 2011 earthquake. The photos
were not spectacular because of heavy and low clouds, but it was an
interesting view of the city.
For museum lovers, out of whom I'm not,
Washington DC has lots to offer with dozens and dozens of museums...
most of them being free to visit. In my previous visit to DC, I have
visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
